Worth Metroplex. The property is adjacent to the W. R. Holway Reservoir, only two miles away from Lake Hudson, and minutes away from Grand Lake, Spavinaw Lake, Fort Gibson Lake and Lake Tenkiller are also nearby.
Terrain
Chimney Rock Hollow rests between two ridges blanketed with the rustling leaves of mature hardwoods and the solitude of isolated stands of pines. The hollow gently embraces and guides a perpetual flow of crystal-clear spring water to form the headwaters and first mile of Chimney Rock Creek. Subtle changes in the hollow’s elevation create a series of 26 gurgling waterfalls feeding 25 peaceful fishing pools. In contrast to the waterfalls, a quiet chorus of groundwater drips from areas of exposed bedrock alongside the creek. Manicured grass and mature shade trees complement this idyllic creek-side refuge. Higher on the ridge, open stands of oaks provide undisturbed views of wildlife. In addition, continuously maintained food plots attract and sustain a healthy population of whitetail deer flocks of wild turkeys and dove. There are approximately 9 managed foot plots specifically planted with seasonal high protein forage for antler growth and year around wildlife attraction.
Wildlife and Water
The perpetual flow of pristine spring water defines the essence of Chimney Rock Hollow. Cool waters drip, bubble, pour and rush out of solid rock throughout the hollow. Along their course, these waters either flow directly into the creek or follow established paths to it. This cooperation of rock and water enables the property to flow large volumes of water while at the same time providing solid footing for both humans and wildlife to enjoy. Calm pools of water sustain healthy populations of Rainbow Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Black bass and Hybrid Bluegill. Constant water temperatures allow stocked trout to thrive and grow heavy in the creek. Encounters with aggressive smallmouth bass punctuate fishing excursions with impressive displays of aquatic acrobatics. For the past 2 1/2 years the current owner has implemented an extensive smallmouth bass management program and expects to be producing trophy size smallmouth bass within the next 12 months. If that's not soon enough W.R Holway Reservoir is just a stones throw away and is rumored to hold the state record for smallmouth bass. Approximately 5 years ago the owners implemented a dove program that today yields more than a day's limit each season for two people. Overall, the quiet solitude and highly controlled access to Chimney Rock Hollow's private creek creates a pleasant and eventful fishing experience for all ages and skill ranges.
Improvements
Two creek-side cabins built in 2006 each provide approximately 500 square feet of relaxation and seclusion just a stone’s throw away from the water. Constructed of pine and rock, the interiors of the cabins are finished in solid pine and decorated in an eclectic, romantic style. Artistic touches such as imprinted, painted leaves in the concrete floor add a legacy of the vision, passion and personal touches from the current owners. A hot tub located between the cabins provides a relaxing way to end the day just listening to the nearby waterfall and gazing up at the stars. The hillside pool provides a great place for family and friends to swim and play in fresh spring water moments after it emerges from the ground.
Summary
It is more difficult now than ever to spend quality time with family and friends in our hectic, highly scheduled world. Constantly bombarded with media and advertising campaigns, we drift a little further apart each day, spending less and less time together enjoying each other’s company. It takes a special place to overcome these distractions and bring everyone together. It takes a place with some romance such as intimate cabins, a hot tub with a full view of the starlit sky and a spring-fed swimming pool made of native stone and surrounded by Tiki torches. It takes a place where fishing can be enjoyed in a park-like setting complete with picnic tables, grills and restrooms. It takes a place with walking trails and food plots that bring nature’s best out for viewing. Chimney Rock Hollow Retreat is the place.
