Nimrod Ranch Hunting Club is situated in the heart of farming country which makes its terrain basically flat. The surrounding farming country throughout the area enhances the property for waterfowl. Approximately 85 acres of cultivated ground have been prepared in two separate areas for food plots, which leaves approximately 650 acres throughout the ranch which have been restored to native grasses—ideal for put-and-take bird hunting.

Wildlife and Water

This ranch is made up of two playa lakes: Zahn Lake (300 +/- surface acres when full) and Johnson Lake (98 +/- acres when full). The lakes have islands and walkout levies constructed to improve the habitat and create hunting opportunities. These water features attract and hold wintering waterfowl throughout the area. With 1,000 acres of Nimrod Ranch Hunting Club signed up in the Wetlands Reserve Program this property will be a permanent home for waterfowl in the Rolling Plains.

Improvements

This ranch has perimeter fencing which has all been constructed within the last 4 years. There are plans to create a lodge from an original rustic barn on the south end of the property. A new gated entry and crushed limestone road make up the main entrance for the ranch off FM 2163 and provide year-round access to the property.
