Terrain

The terrain of Rock Creek Ranch runs the gamut from high rock ridges that offer fantastic views of the creek 150 feet below, to flat, open expanses bordered by massive hardwoods and blanketed by rich, green grass. Creek oxbows twist and curve their way through the property leaving behind subtle dips and swales that hold water and create invaluable wetland habitat for wildlife. The larger of the two creeks, Sand Creek, is deep enough to allow canoeing and boating all the way to Osage Hills State Park and beyond. Food plots are found throughout the property giving ample opportunity for large parties to safely enjoy hunting at the same time.

The transition between the highland and bottomland areas are marked by both gentle rolling transitions and, in some spots, vertical rock bluffs.

Wildlife and Water

Rock Creek Ranch is a mecca for wildlife. It has an outstanding deer herd that has been managed for years with one simple mantra, “you kill it, you mount it”. This has caused family and guests to carefully choose which deer they harvested and, consequently, has yielded an outstanding herd of trophy and soon-to-be-trophy whitetails. The walls of the lodge attest to the quality and quantity of trophy bucks produced over the past few years.

The flowing creeks and five ponds provide habitat for waterfowl and fish while also providing a cool drink to rest of the ranch wildlife. Don’t be surprised to see catfish come to the surface to greet you as you walk across the bridge to Gazebo Island. Deer, turkey, ducks, geese, fish, varmints and dove -- all of these species await you at Rock Creek Ranch.

Improvements

The property has three primary living structures: the main house, a lodge, and a cabin with a large workshop. There are also two main barns and multiple sheds on the property. You will find that each has been carefully constructed of high-quality, durable materials. Steel-pipe fences and cattle gaps are adorned with artistic touches such as embedded wagon wheels and ranch logos. A butcher shop, walk in meat locker, and smoke house have also been constructed on the property.
