The No Fences Land Company Story
No Fences Land Company Incorporated was established in September of 2005 by Jason C. Pettigrew. Although the foundation was established much earlier when Jason was eight years old and hunting with his older cousin when he killed his first deer. As Jason grew, so did his desire to be in the outdoors. Jason became an avid hunter and outdoorsman and has hunted all over the United States, including Alaska, as well as in Canada and Africa.
Jason grew up in Arlington, Texas and graduated from Arlington High School in 1992. From there Jason attended St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas where he earned a degree in Business Administration with a Major in Business Management. The day after graduation Jason headed for Alaska to fulfill a graduation gift from his parents. Although He was unsuccessful in bringing home a Caribou or a Black bear with his bow, the trip was still a complete success and much needed break. It was this isolation, undisturbed wilderness, and clean air that helped to prepare him for his embarkment on his professional career.
Two days after returning from Alaska, Jason packed up and headed to the sleepy mountain town of Angel Fire, located in northern New Mexico. Jason worked for Land Properties Inc. who was selected by Angel Fire Resort to market company owed real estate. There he learned valuable skills and developed a strong appreciation for the sales process. In between elk hunting, trout fishing and camping, he managed to sell real estate in the Moreno Valley. During this time, he learned the invaluable lessons that focus on "Needs Based Selling." Instead of just trying "to make a sale" for personal gain, status, or any other short-sided perspective, he realized the only way to accomplish a "win-win" scenario was if his product(s): (1) actually benefited his customers, (2) they could afford it, (3) and they ultimately needed it. Although there were over 100 agents located throughout Colorado and New Mexico in 6 different offices--- it was this strict criteria that propelled Jason to achieve "Rookie of the Year" and ultimately the youngest agent to achieve "sky-club" status in the history of LPI. . It was during his time in New Mexico that Jason learned that the only way he could personally do business was to do it 100 percent above board and to always take the high road.
At the age of 25 Jason was presented with the opportunity to become the youngest Manager in LPI's history by leading the Pagosa Springs, Colorado office. Although it was a very difficult decision, he elected to capitalize on an opportunity back in Texas, instead of the management position in CO. In early 1999 Jason moved back to the Dallas/Fort Worth area where he went to work for his father at a project on Possum Kingdom Lake known as "The Ranch on Possum Kingdom". Prior to Jason's arrival at "The Ranch", the project had experienced an initial burst of 17 sales within the first year. For the next year, sales were stagnant and not a single property sold. It was about this time that Jason joined the team, and with a fresh outlook and perspective, Jason and the team sold 46 parcels the first year. During the next three years, He and the team expanded what started out as a 127 lot development into a 160 lot development---and took a projected $16.5 million dollar project and turned it into a $37 million dollar project supported by actual sales! It was during this four-year period of selling lake-front ranch properties to very high-net-worth individuals, that he honed his appreciation for helping people fulfill their dreams while at the same time developing friendships with his clients that will last a lifetime.
In March of 2003 Jason married his long term girl-friend Lindsey Daniel Horton. After returning from his honeymoon, He shifted careers again and moved to the Corporate Offices of Clearview Investments Ltd., and began working side-by-side with his father Hal Pettigrew. It was during this time that he developed a much stronger admiration for his father and his accomplishments over his professional career. Jason's role was primarily sourcing potential real estate deals, as well as leasing existing retail development centers, office buildings, and industrial warehouses. It was while working with his father that Jason established a working knowledge of the real estate business from the view point of the "Investor". Here he was exposed to many different types of unique transactions in which he gained a deeper understanding of the financial world, while working towards putting deals together.
In the summer of 2005 Jason's brother, Charley Pettigrew, walked into Jason's office and said, "Jason, I just found your dream job." "Oh yeah, what is that?" Jason exclaimed. "Working for Cabela's selling hunting and fishing ranches," said Charley. "A friend of mine Aaron Graham is doing it in Kansas and Nebraska, and is really enjoying it. It sounds like it is exactly up your alley. You ought to call him and talk to him about it." Jason immediately called Aaron and talked to him about Cabela's Trophy Properties for over an hour. Upon hanging up the phone Jason called Cabela's and spoke to Jeff Phelps about the application process. Two weeks later, Jason was invited to Sidney, NE to the Cabela's World Headquarters to interview for becoming a Participant in the Cabela's Trophy Properties program. After a four hour interview with Gregg Severinson and Jeff Phelps, "the rest is history." Jason was able to call his father and report that he had just gotten selected to represent Cabela's Trophy Properties throughout not only Texas but also Oklahoma! During the three hour drive from Sidney to Denver Jason vowed to create a company that stood on a solid foundation of honesty and integrity.
It was due to Cabela's and their willingness to take a risk on Jason Pettigrew---that No Fences Land Company was conceived. On September 27, 2005 No Fences Land Company Inc. was born. Since that time Jason and the No Fences Land Company staff, have dedicated themselves to becoming The Premier Recreational Real Estate Company throughout Texas and Oklahoma. It is due to the caliber of our people and the level at which they perform that has propelled No Fences Land Company Inc. to become a two time recipient of "The Top Gun Award" which is the most prestigious award that can be presented to a participant. This acknowledges the top brokerage in Cabela's Trophy Properties for not only the United States, but internationally. This success is a direct result of recruiting those select individuals who possess characteristics of honesty, integrity, and having a strong moral compass. It is the dedication of the entire No Fences Land Company team that has positioned us where we are today, and where we are going in the future...
